Genuine Repentance Produces Fruit | Part 5 | Rev. John Christos - July 5th 2026

Welcome to Christian Foundations Series – Part 5. In this Bible study, we explore one of the most important questions every believer should ask: What does genuine repentance actually look like? The Bible teaches that repentance is far more than feeling sorry for sin. True repentance involves a complete turning of the heart toward God that results in a transformed life. Jesus, John the Baptist, Paul, and the prophets all taught that genuine repentance always produces visible fruit. In this teaching, we carefully examine the biblical doctrine of the Fruit of Repentance and discover how inward transformation becomes outward evidence. This message explains why salvation is by grace through faith alone, yet genuine faith always results in a changed life. Using Scripture throughout, we examine the difference between repentance itself and the fruit that naturally follows it. You'll learn why good works never earn salvation but instead demonstrate the transforming work of the Holy Spirit in the believer. This teaching walks through numerous Bible passages including Matthew 3, Matthew 7, Matthew 12, Luke 3, Acts 26, Ezekiel 36, Galatians 5, Isaiah 1, James 4, John 15, Philippians 1, Acts 19, 2 Corinthians 7, and many more. In this lesson you'll discover: • What biblical repentance really means • The difference between repentance and the fruit of repentance • Why true repentance always changes a person's direction • Why fruit grows gradually through the work of the Holy Spirit • The difference between legalism and biblical obedience • Why salvation cannot be earned through good works • How genuine repentance transforms everyday life • Why changed behavior flows from a changed heart Biblical Fruits of Genuine Repentance Covered ✔ Righteousness ✔ Restitution ✔ Generosity ✔ Honesty ✔ Contentment ✔ Mercy ✔ Humility ✔ Separation from sin ✔ Perseverance in faith Throughout this study we examine practical examples from Scripture including Zacchaeus, John the Baptist's preaching, Paul's ministry, and the transforming work of God's Spirit in the lives of believers. One of the central truths presented in this lesson is that: "The fruit of repentance is not the cause of salvation—it is the evidence of salvation." Jesus taught: "By their fruit you will recognize them." This does not mean Christians become perfect overnight. Instead, genuine believers begin a lifelong journey of transformation as the Holy Spirit changes them from the inside out. This message also explains: Why repentance is not merely emotional sorrow The difference between worldly sorrow and godly sorrow How grace transforms the believer What spiritual growth looks like How Christians continue growing in holiness Why repentance produces increasing obedience How the Gospel changes every area of life Whether you are a new believer, Bible student, church leader, pastor, teacher, or someone exploring Christianity, this lesson provides a clear biblical explanation of genuine repentance and the evidence God produces in His people. Our prayer is that this teaching strengthens your understanding of Scripture and encourages you to walk faithfully with Jesus Christ. Working of True Repentance – Part 4 | Christian Foundation Series | Rev. John Christos

Welcome to the Christian Foundation Series.. In Part 4 of Working of True Repentance, we examine one of the most important doctrines in the Christian faith: **true biblical repentance Many people believe repentance simply means feeling sorry for sin, but Scripture reveals that genuine repentance is much deeper. It is a work that begins with God and is completed through our willing response. In this Bible teaching, we discover that repentance is not merely an emotional experience or a temporary feeling of guilt. True repentance is a decision to turn away from sin and turn wholeheartedly toward God. It results in a transformed life, renewed fellowship with God, and lasting spiritual freedom through Jesus Christ. This message explores God's divine work in repentance. The Father lovingly draws people to Himself (John 6:44). The Holy Spirit convicts the world concerning sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8). Jesus Christ, through His death on the cross and resurrection, has already paid the full price for our sins, making forgiveness and reconciliation with God available to everyone who believes (1 Peter 2:24; John 14:6). The goodness, mercy, and grace of God lead sinners to repentance (Romans 2:4). While God initiates repentance, every individual must personally respond. God cannot repent for us. We must acknowledge our sinful condition, humble ourselves before Him, confess our sins, and make the decision to forsake sinful living. Genuine repentance is demonstrated by a changed heart and transformed lifestyle. This teaching examines the importance of the heart in repentance. God is not interested in outward religious actions alone but desires inward transformation. Through passages such as Joel 2:12, Matthew 13:15, Acts 26:18, Luke 18:9–14, 1 John 1:9, and Proverbs 28:13, we learn that repentance begins in the heart and produces lasting fruit. One of the major themes of this message is the difference between **repentance and remorse**. Many people experience guilt, regret, or emotional sorrow after sinning, but Scripture teaches that worldly sorrow produces death, while godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation (2 Corinthians 7:10). Remorse focuses on consequences, while repentance results in genuine change. Repentance says, "I will turn away from sin and follow Christ." Remorse simply says, "I feel bad." We also compare the responses of Judas Iscariot and the repentant thief on the cross. Judas experienced remorse but failed to turn fully to God. The thief acknowledged his guilt, placed his faith in Jesus Christ, and received eternal life even in his final moments. These biblical examples reveal that true repentance always leads to life, forgiveness, restoration, and hope. Whether you are a new believer, a mature Christian, a Bible student, a pastor, or someone seeking to understand God's Word more deeply, this teaching provides a strong biblical foundation for understanding repentance according to Scripture. **Topics Covered** • What is true biblical repentance? • God's role in repentance • The Father draws us • The Holy Spirit convicts • Jesus Christ provides salvation • God's goodness leads to repentance • Our responsibility to respond • Acknowledging sin • Humility before God • Confession of sin • Forsaking sinful living • Repentance versus remorse • Godly sorrow and worldly sorrow • Biblical examples of repentance • Freedom through Jesus Christ • Living a transformed Christian life **Key Bible References** 1 Timothy 3:15 • Matthew 7:24 • John 6:44 • John 16:8 • 1 Peter 2:24 • John 14:6 • Romans 2:4 • Luke 18:9–14 • Joel 2:12 • Matthew 13:15 • Acts 26:18 • 1 John 1:9 • Proverbs 28:13 • 2 Corinthians 7:10 • Matthew 27:3–4 • Luke 23:40–42 If this message blesses you, please **Like**, **Share**, **Comment**, and **Subscribe** to support the ministry and help spread the truth of God's Word. The Process of Laying a Strong Spiritual Foundation Part 2 | Rev. John Christos, June 14th 2026

Every lasting structure begins with a strong foundation. The same is true in our walk with Christ. In this message, we explore the biblical process of spiritual growth—from being born again to becoming mature disciples who can withstand pressure, temptation, false teaching, and cultural compromise. Drawing from 1 Corinthians 3, Ephesians 2, Hebrews 5, Hebrews 12, Romans 12, and other key passages, we examine how God prepares the ground of our hearts, removes obstacles, establishes His truth, and builds Christlike character within us. Key Topics: • Spiritual infancy vs. spiritual maturity • The importance of biblical foundations • Discerning truth from deception • Repentance and renewing the mind • Removing strongholds and wrong beliefs • Training in godliness • Building character that withstands testing • Growing beyond elementary foundations • Building ministries on integrity and character Scripture References: 📖 1 Corinthians 3:1-15 📖 Jeremiah 29:11 📖 2 Timothy 3:16-17 📖 Hebrews 5:14 📖 Hebrews 12:11 📖 2 Corinthians 10:5-6 📖 Ephesians 5:13 📖 Psalm 139:23-24 📖 Romans 12:2 📖 Psalm 19:13 📖 Ephesians 2:20 📖 1 Timothy 4:7-8 Discussion Questions: 1. What attitudes, beliefs, habits, or thought patterns does God want to remove from your life? 2. When pressure comes, do you stand firm in faith or compromise? 3. Can a ministry built on weak character truly endure? May this message challenge you to allow God to strengthen your foundation so that your faith remains firm through every season.
